The Friends of the Mount Carroll District Library will host their annual Tea Party at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Mount Carroll Community House. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
A selection of finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries, tea, apple cider and coffee will be served with touches of the season. The Friends will also offer unique teacup treasures, vintage linens, books and plants for sale to help raise funds to benefit the historic Carnegie library.
"Please join us for this special afternoon with harp music provided by guest musician Alyssa Nelson,” said Cathy Hutchcraft, tea party coordinator. “All proceeds from the tea party will be used to support the library's programs and restoration.”
Celebrate the Seasons Quilt Runner Raffle items will also be on display at the tea. Tickets for these decorative runners pieced by Diane Manikowski representing the four seasons will be available for purchase.
“In colors ranging from soft pastels to rich winter hues, these runners were machine-quilted at Yellow Creek Quilt Designs and will be a beautiful addition to your home,” said Hutchcraft.
Individual tickets are available for $10 each and sponsorship of a table for four is available for $40.
