Savanna Beautification in Motion (BIM) recently made several donations with the proceeds from it s annual plant and bake sale.

“BIM appreciates the donors and supporters of this fundraiser and chooses to reinvest those proceeds back into our community,” said Karen Nolte, a BIM member.

BIM is one of three groups participating in Savanna Mapping, a program facilitated by the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs and supported by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

Since 2015, BIM has successfully sponsored A Bench for Caps project, two community-wide litter pickups, two solid waste collections, flags on Viaduct Road and Main Street, a $1,000 donation for flags for the new Savanna Veterans Memorial Park, $1,000 donation to the Savanna Historical Society, $500 to The Table for flower beds, and $200 to the 2019 Shadfly Festival.

In addition, BIM also plants and maintains the three "Welcome to Savanna" planters at the north, south and east city limits.
