CHADWICK—The second meeting for area residents who are caregivers of a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at the First Lutheran Church, 19 W. 2nd St., Chadwick.

The meeting is expected to last approximately one hour. Parking is available north of the church.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a safe place for caregivers of a family member or a friend with dementia to develop a support system. They will exchange practical information with other caregivers on caregiving challenges and possible solutions by talking through issues and ways of coping. They will also learn of resources available from the Alzheimer's Association, Illinois Chapter.

The meeting will be led by Becky Geison and Alan Skoog, who have received training by the Alzheimer's Association.

To register, call Geison or Skoog at 815-590-6372 or 815-499-5161. It is preferred that only the caregiver attends. If that is not possible, arrangements will be made to take care of the patient during the meeting if the leaders are notified in advance.

If a caregiver wants to attend but is unable to because of the time, call the leaders and let them know. Tentatively, additional meetings will be held at the church the first Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m.
