The brick, one-room Oakville School in rural Mount Carroll is one of five historic buildings that will be part of an open house from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.

Enjoy a Fall walk around five local historic buildings at the Carroll County Historical Society's historic Oakville Complex, 8116 Oakville Road, next to the public Oakville Cemetery in rural Mount Carroll.

An open house from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, will offer a number of estate items at cash-and-carry prices, including furniture, household items, assorted toys, games, collectibles, and other treasures.

Enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the historic brick one-room Oakville School and four other historic buildings located on the school yard site.

Imagine life in the rural Oakville community with no electricity, kitchen sinks, cell phones, computers, or cars. See the blacksmith shop with tools of the trade.

Imagine your family living in a log cabin or being a lead miner back in the day. Envision the effort required to fill the granary with grains for your livestock in the coming winter.
