It's time to make reservations for a special event. The Carroll County 708 Mental Health Board is hosting a concert to raise funds to continue providing services to residents.

Proceeds benefit these Carroll County mental health agencies: CASA, Carroll County Substance Education Coalition, Lutheran Social Services, Riverview Center, Rolling Hills Progress Center, Sinnissippi Centers and Tyler's Justice Center.

This unique fundraiser, Midwest Idol, will be hosted by Brooke Byam and will feature professional bands, dancers, impersonators and comedians who will compete for cash prizes.

Byam and volunteer marketing director Pam Sorg will be on the Paula Sands Live show from 3-3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, on KWQC-TV Channel 6. Byam will discuss the format of Midwest Idol and provide a description of the performers while Sorg will talk about the mental health agencies and how they work in the community.

Performers for the dynamic show include: Brooke Byam, the peOple, JaCi Leigh, Chad Elliott, Travis Hosette (Singing Sinatra), Andrew Jacob Holm, 3 On The Tree, the Longhorn Bandits, and Gateway Contemporary Ballet.

Check out the artists on the Facebook Page (Midwest Idol) for a preview of their talent. Songs from Reba McEntire, Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, the Highwaymen and Lady Gaga will be performed. The audience will determine the winners who will be announced at the Sunday performance.

A talent search for local performers will be held at 6 p.m. every Wednesday in September (Sept. 4-25) at The Living Room, 700 S. 2nd St, Clinton, Iowa, 563-321-4378. Winners will perform with the cast on the Timber Lake Playhouse stage and receive prizes.
