Original art featuring local sites such as the 1920-era Savanna Roadhouse will be featured at Bridges of Carroll County, 417 Main St., Ssavanna.

The artwork is on display starting Dec. 2 through the end of February. Stop in any time to see the paintings.

The collection of paintings — all of which are for sale — also feature national attractions such as the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.

The paintings are the work of Savanna resident Michelle McClintock.

McClintock comes to Savanna from a corporate background and now has time to explore her more creative side.

"It is very exciting to show my work in such a beautiful space as Bridges," McClintock said. "Many of the pieces depict sceneries of Savanna from today and days gone by. I can see why this area was settled long ago and a church constructed in 1888. The views of the bluffs and Mississippi River will inspire any artist or creative soul. I know that every Artist that shows their work here will feel very lucky and completely love the space."

As an artist, McClintock uses a variety of media — including acrylics, watercolor, ink, pencil, rice paper, 1mm tape, crystals on canvas and paper. In addition to paintings, she likes to create special cards, "fairy houses" to decorate yards. She also enjoys refurbished antiques.

"I think the little town of Savanna could be the next new artist hangout and creative gathering place," McClintock said. "We definitely have the scenic views that will inspire any creative person. Along with its relaxed pace it is an incredibly inviting space for artists of all levels and talents to blossom."
