MC Chamber plans events for Halloween

This Mount Carroll residence on South Main Street across from the First Baptist Church is in the spirit of the season as Halloween approaches this Saturday, Oct. 31. The Mount Carroll Chamber of Commerce is a Community Halloween Celebration with trick or treating Saturday morning at several downtown locations. It is also the final day of the Farmers Market.

The Mount Carroll Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Community Halloween Celebration Saturday, Oct. 31.

There will be Early Bird Trick or Treating at the Mount Carroll Pharmacy from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., at Heritage Market Antiques from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and at the Farmers Market from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

“Come celebrate the final day of the popular Farmers Market, thank the vendors for a very successful season and check out all your fall favorites,” the Chamber said. “The vendors will be distributing candy all morning and everyone is encouraged to dress up in costumes. This is also the last chance for some pre-holiday shopping at the market; jams, locally produced honey, baked goods, produce, hot drinks, crafts and other products will be available.”

Tina's Ice Cream Shoppe and Riverview Antiques, 409 N. Main St., will offer 50 cents off ice cream cones all day and a $1 discount on shakes. Check out their sales and all the new items 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Pulled pork sandwiches and chili will also be served.

The Heritage Market, 107 W. Market St., will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and will offer a 15% discount on any purchase by a Trick or Treat participant.

There will be a Drive-Through Trunk-or-Treat and Free Kids Meal sponsored by Shaw's Marketplace from 5-6 p.m. at the Mount Carroll Church of God, 816 S. Clay St. The citywide Trick or Treat will be from 6-8 p.m. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
