Moring Disposal will be providing the Bulky Waste Clean-Up Day for all homes in the City of Savanna on Saturday, Aug. 29.
All acceptable bulk waste should be set at the curb the night before or by 6 a.m. Items set out after the truck has passed will not be collected.
Each participating residence may place up to one large bulky item along with one cubic yard of miscellaneous waste at the curb on pick-up day.
One cubic yard is equivalent to approximately six 30-gallon garbage containers. All small miscellaneous items must be bagged or placed in 30-gallon cans in manageable manner. Items thrown out loose will be left at the curb. No torn down sheds or other building material will be accept. Guidelines will be enforced.
Regular household waste and recyclables should be prepared in the same manner as usual.
Acceptable bulky items include: couches, sectionals (limit one full sectional), sleeper sofas, rocker/recliners, coffee/end tables, kitchen tables, bed frames, mattress/box springs, baby beds (cribs), bicycles, swing sets (broken down to maximum length of 4 ft.), dressers, shelving, cabinets and push mowers (fuel and oil must be drained).
Acceptable miscellaneous items consist of boxes or refuse containers of miscellaneous items such as the following: tricycles, outdoor toys, charcoal grills, gas grills with propane tank removed, shovel, rakes, lawn chairs, baby swings, playpens, walkers, car seats, fans, dishes, clothing, pillows, picture frames, area rugs, et.
Unacceptable bulky items include major appliances, air conditioners, de-humidifiers, water heater/softener, windows, and plate glass, riding lawn mowers, tires, demolition/remodeling debris, cement, rock, brick, carpeting, car parts and electronic items.
