The Savanna Historical Society is hosting a musical program on at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Museum, 406 Main St.
The Terrapin Ramblers of Elizabeth will explore the roots of traditional American music with focus on timeless Appalachian fiddle tunes and barn dance music, such as "Liberty," "St. Anne's Reel," and "Dance All Night."
Digging deeper into the roots of American tradition, the group will also perform enduring Irish music such as "The South Wind," "Star of County Down," and "Morgan Megan."
The Ramblers have been performing together for more than 40 years and are a fixture of local musical culture. The group is compromised of Mark Brewer, harpist; Judy Cuplin, piano; Raymond Thraen, fiddle; Joe McNally, banjo; and Jeff DeWalt, guitar.
A donation of $8 will be appreciated. Proceeds go towards future programs of the Savanna Historical Society.
