Two more bands have been announced for Mount Carroll’s Mayfest 2019 celebration scheduled for Memorial Day weekend May 24-26 on the former Shimer College campus.

“Heartache Tonight-A Tribute to The Eagles” will wrap up Mayfest’s live musical entertainment from 7-10 p.m. Sunday, May 26.

The opening act for Mayfest 2019 will be “The PeOple,” performing from 7-10 p.m. Friday, May 24.

Two bands announced earlier that will be playing at Mayfest on Saturday, May 25, are “Travelin’ Band,” a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band performing from 3-6 p.m., and “Back Country Roads” playing from 7-10 p.m.

A Campus Construction Day is scheduled for this Saturday, April 27, starting at 9 a.m., to rebuild and paint the original Mayfest stage.

Registration forms for food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and the 5K Run/Walk also are available at the Mirror-Democrat office in downtown Mount Carroll or the Times-Journal office in downtown Savanna.

Mayfest 2019 buttons are expected to be available beginning this week at local establishments. The button design was by Emily Simkins of Mount Carroll.

Mayfest Steering Committee organizer Brandon Ballard said Mayfest is essentially starting from scratch financially and will need to secure donations for the entire 2019 festival budget. He said there are a number of ways to donate for those who are interested in helping:
