Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, front center, with kids on her lap, delivered donated children’s books from the Library of Congress to the Mount Carroll District Library Wednesday afternoon, June 5. The Library of Congress’ Surplus Book Program was established to help provide excess books to libraries across America as well as qualified non-profit institutions. Mount Carroll was the 48th stop on Bustos’ book tour where she delivered her 2,400th book since launching the program. Seated next to Bustos is Laurel Bergren, library board of directors president. Library Director Pam Naples is in the second row, far right.
