The Humane Society of Carroll County is holding a soup and sandwich event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Naaman Diehl Auditorium, 811 S. Clay St., Mount Carroll.

The menu includes chili, chicken noodle and vegetable soups along with pork and beef sandwiches. Cost is $8 per person.

Proceeds will be used to assist people with getting their dogs and cats spayed and neutered.

The Humane Society also is holding a raffle that runs through Nov. 3 when the drawing will be held at the soup and sandwich event. Prizes include half a processed hog, a cat-themed quilt and a dog-themed tied fleece blanket.

Tickets are $5 each, five for $20 and 25 for $100 and may be purchased by calling Sandy Lahre at 815-273-4590. Winners do not need to be present for the drawing.

Raffle proceeds will also go to help pay for dogs and cats to be spayed and neutered.
