An informal, kid-friendly, weekly soup-and-praise worship services in preparation for Easter will kick off Wednesday, March 13, at The Table in Savanna.

Soup and bread is served at 6 p.m. followed by a short worship service at 7 p.m. Services will be held weekly through April 10 at The Table, located at 926 Viaduct Rd., next to Poopy's.

In addition to weekly services held at The Table, there will be an Ash Wednesday service Wednesday, March 6, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Pastor Joey Garcea of the First United Methodist Church will preach. A Good Friday Service will be held at noon April 19, also at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Everyone is welcome, both to the services at The Table and the Ash Wednesday and Good Friday services at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

The worship series is presented by the Interchurch Council, which consists of representatives from the local Episcopal, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, Roman Catholic, and Methodist Churches.

The worship schedule is as follows:

•March 13, Wednesday: Service led by Pastor Gary Panetta of First Presbyterian Church.

•March 20, Wednesday: Service led by Father Bob North of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

•March 27, Wednesday: Service led by Pastor Joey Garcea of First United Methodist Church.

•April 3, Wednesday: Service led by Pastor Narda Alvelo of Cristo La Luz.

•April 10, Wednesday: Service led by Father Moises Apostol of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
