The Wayne A. Greene Memorial Scholarship has been established for West Carroll High School seniors.
Greene, who died last year, was a secondary education teacher for 31 years. He taught industrial arts, architectural drawing and mathematics in the Mount Carroll and West Carroll school districts. He is survived by his wife, Karen, and two children, Brian Greene and Julie (Greene) Katzenberger.
In applying for the Wayne A. Greene Memorial Scholarship, applicants should be a West Carroll High School senior. In addition, applicants must be intending on pursuing a postsecondary degree in education or a trade field.
Selection criteria will be based on work ethic, character, academic achievement, and extra-curricular involvement.

Applicants should include their first and last name, address and phone number, high school transcript, and the field the applicant will be pursuing after graduation.
All applicants will need to submit a letter confirming admission to a postsecondary institution and a one-page response to the following question:
How do you uphold Mr. Greene’s values of work ethic, character, academic achievement, and extra-curricular involvement in your everyday life? Please provide examples.
