St. John The Baptist Church Knights of Columbus will hold their third annual Christmas Dinner Wednesday, Dec. 25, at the church’s Antl Hall, 318 Chicago Ave., Savanna.

Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., but it is suggested to arrive early.

“Everyone is invited, but especially those who can’t afford a traditional Christmas dinner that includes turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, dinner rolls and cake for dessert,” said KC member John McConnel Jr.

“Or, if you are lonely on Christmas day and need a pick me up, or if you are grieving the loss of a loved one, please join us and celebrate Christmas with song, good food and good company,” added McConnel. “We hope there will be many children of all ages to enjoy the festivities. There are rumors Santa may make a special appearance.”

McConnel said the Christmas meal is free of charge and there will be small gifts for each person who attend.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help may call McConnel at 815-244-4005.

“This is so rewarding spiritually,” McConnel said. “Please consider helping.”
