The Savanna Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Cookie Walk will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, and many local businesses will be open.
The Christmas Walk will begin with Lighting of the Tree at 5 p.m. at 103 Main St. in front of the Jo-Carroll Energy office. Karen Wallace has taken the challenge of this event. There will be Christmas caroling and the West Carroll music program will perform
One of the highlights of the Walk is the silent auction held at Blackhawk Area Credit Union, 214 Main St., with gift baskets that will appeal to everyone along many other items to help fill your Christmas shopping list.
The Savanna Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Tastiest Cookie Contest to be held at the First Savanna Savings Bank. Cookies will be judged on appearance and taste.
Cookie bakers are asked to have 4-6 plated decorated cookies and a minimum of two-dozen cookies to the First Savanna Savings Bank by noon on Friday. The remainder of the cookies will be sold at the Cookie Walk at the Blackhawk Area Credit Union at 5 p.m.

Savanna Bingo sheets will be available in Nov. 17 issue of the Carroll County Mirror-Democrat and Nov. 18 issue of the Savanna-Times Journal as well as at participating businesses. Visit these businesses and have your sheet stamped for a chance to win $100 in Chamber Bucks.
Selfies with Santa and Mrs. Claus can be taken at the Savanna Fire Station. Children are invited to write letters to Santa at the fire station.
A Toys For Tots donation box will be at the fire station for items to be dropped off.
Wagon rides will be available down Main Street. Christmas carolers will be on Main Street.
Donations of nonperishable food can be donated to Classy Closet. These donations will be delivered to the Food Pantry.
West Carroll After Prom will be selling hot chocolate at Ace Hardware
The Festival of Trees opens at 4 p.m. Nov. 26; stop in during the Christmas Walk.
