LANARK—Allan "Skip" Garner, 91, of Lanark, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at Allure of Mount Carroll.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 noon Saturday Nov. 20, from 10 AM until 12 noon, at the Russell-Frank Funeral in Lanark. A private family service will be at the Lanark Cemetery.

Allan was born June 6, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Doc and Erna (Huber) Garner. He attended Lanark High School and on March 16, 1957, married Elaine Gothard.
He was a self-employed welder and owner of Gothard Welding Shop. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanark. He also served in the Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Organizations included the Carroll County Riding Club and the Carroll County Mounted Patrol.
Survivors include his sons, Tim (Cindy) Garner and Tom Garner; daughter, Denise Rogers; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his parents; three sisters; one brother; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and one niece.
