ELECTRIC CITY, Wash.—Danny, "Dan" Kaufman, 59, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, in Electric City, Wash., where he has lived these past few years.

Dan was born to Lyle and Irene Kaufman on March 24, 1961, in Savanna. He grew up in the Thomson area and graduated from Thomson High School.

Dan had worked various jobs, including Quad Cities Nuclear Generating Station as a licensed reactor operator, which he worked for many years. These last few years, Dan worked as an operator at the Grand Coulee Hydroelectric Dam, Grand Coulee, Wash. Dan had just retired from the dam within the last month.

Dan is survived by his mother, Irene Kaufman; his brother, Rich (Janet) Kaufman; daughter, Cara (Ryan) Painter; son, Chad (Lauren Fahey) Kaufman; two granddaughters, Adley and Morgan Painter; two nephews, Ryan (Sarah Powell) Kaufman and Brandon (Shaelynn Williams) Kaufman; one niece, Kayla (Andrew) Russell; three great-nephews, Brayden Powell, Luke Kaufman and Easton Russell; and uncles, aunts and cousins.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Kaufman; his grandson, Ethan Painter; and his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
