SAVANNA—Delinda Faye Bimm, 78, of Savanna, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020, at home in the care of her loving family.
Delinda was born to Donald L. and Marcella G. (Quale) Hancock on May 30, 1942, at the Savanna City Hospital. She was raised in Hanover, moving to Savanna upon her marriage to Robert H. Bimm in 1961. After their children were grown, the marriage ended.
Delinda served her community for decades through her real estate business, Quality Real Estate, as well as many local organizations.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her children and gave of herself to all.
Delinda loved gardening and cooking, serving up fantastic concoctions and has passed that passion on to her family.
Delinda cherished the love of her family, raising them to responsible adults. During the last few years, Delinda counted on her strong family bonds to carry her through her battle with dementia, finally succumbing to the disease.
Delinda will be dearly missed by her family, one daughter, Mary Lou Kane (Milo Miller) of Savanna; three sons, Donald W. (Karen) Bimm of Camanche, Iowa, Robert M. (Laura) Bimm of Colorado Springs, Co., and David C. Bimm (Vernon Dean, deceased) of Savanna; six grandchildren; three sisters, Diane (Arlen, deceased) Dahlman, Donna (Carson) Nadig and Darleen (Leslie) Penoyer.
In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews and countless friends, all whom loved her very much.
Delinda was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marcella Hancock.
Delinda's legacy and spirit live on through those who love her. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, (www.stjude.org), in honor of Delinda's life.
