SAVANNA—Evelyn Plummer, 72, of Savanna, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m.
Evelyn was born Jan. 8, 1948, the daughter of Raymond and Nancy (Kaneversky) Plummer. She grew up in southern Illinois, attending West Frankfurt High School and graduating with the Class of 1964.
After school Evelyn worked in many different fields in many different places. In Chicago she worked for an insurance company and also as a cook. For a time Evelyn worked for Washington Inventory Service. Her new position required her to travel all over the country. Eventually, Evelyn settled in Savanna to be closer to friends.
Evelyn was known for being a fair person. She was even-handed and kind. She never wanted anyone to feel upset or down. She enjoyed watching television, especially shows from the 1960s-70s as well as NCIS. She even named her two cats after the female leads on NCIS, Abbey and Ziva.
Evelyn will be dearly missed by her brother, Raymond Plummer.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Nancy, and her brother, Charles.
