MOUNT CARROLL—Cheryl A. Fiser, 74, of Mount Carroll, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at her home. A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at a later date, to be determined by her family.
Cheryl was born Jan. 16, 1947, daughter of Howard and Clarise (Gillette) Rohrssen. She grew up in Elgin, where she graduated from Larkin High School with the class of 1965. Soon after graduation Cheryl married Gerald Trygg and they had two children, Kellie and Kirsten Trygg.
The family lost Gerald to a rare heart condition in 1976, leaving Cheryl to raise her girls on her own. She began working for Elgin Industries in the early 1980s where she was an assistant to the president and the office manager. She worked for Elgin Industries for over 20 years.
In the early 2000s Cheryl met Jim Fiser. They were married on Oct. 22, 2005. Together, Cheryl and Jim celebrated 15 years of marriage until Jim's passing in 2020.
Cheryl and Jim enjoyed going for long rides on Jim's Harley together, and were involved in fundraisers and events including the BTW. They liked to vacation, taking trips to Colorado, the Grand Canyon, the Black Hills, and visiting Cheryl's brother Carl in Arizona.
Cheryl loved antiques, cardinals, flowers and crafting with yarn. She would mostly spend her free time shopping and especially enjoyed a rare find.
Cheryl will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Kellie (Eric) Gulbransen of Huntley, Ill., and Kirsten (Dennis) Beason of Burlington, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Fiser of Wisconsin and Amber Soto of Ohio; three grandchildren, Matthew and Kyle Beason of Burlington, and Chelsea Gulbransen-Delso of Chicago; and two brothers, Ralph Rohrssen of South Carolina and Bradley Rohrssen of Huntley.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Fiser; two grandsons, Adam Beason and Aaron Beason; two brothers, Carl Rohrssen and Allen Rohrssen; and her parents, Howard and Clarise.
