SAVANNA—Betty R. Schott, 86, of Savanna, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020, in her home.

Betty was born Jan. 23, 1934, in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Winnifred (Boyle) Fields. She attended school in Marquette, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1952.
On Oct. 7, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Betty married Donald Schott. The couple went on to have two children, Donald Jr. and Elizabeth Carrie.
Betty adored her family. She spent her adult life as a mother and homemaker, and in time, put those skills to good use on her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many hours emailing her widespread family members, making sure to stay up to date with all of them.
In her free time, Betty enjoyed reading and playing cards, and was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Clinton, Iowa.
Betty will be dearly missed by her husband of 67 years, Donald; daughter, Elizabeth Garver, of Manassas Park, Va.; five grandchildren, Brianna (Josh) Becker, Jessica (Danny) Kowal, Jason (Sara) Schott, Nick Garver, and Jake Garver; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jayden, Kayleigh, Weston and Jaylee, and Sophie and Arianna; and many extended family members and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Winnifred; son, Donald Schott Jr.; and sisters, Barb Cook and Marjorie Cook.
