DONALD A. ZEERYP JR.

SAVANNA—Donald Arthur Zeeryp Jr., 66, of Savanna, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

A celebration of Donald's life will be held at Ridge Runner's in Savanna on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 12-4 p.m. Our only request is that you bring your best memories of him, and have a few beers! Family and friends are invited to share in his life at lawjonesfuneralhome.com.

Donald was born July 14, 1956, at Savanna City Hospital, the son of Donald Arthur Zeeryp Sr. and Martha (Fosdick) Zeeryp. He attended Savanna schools.

Donald was a lifelong hunter and fisherman, even making his life's work out of it. He worked for Schafer's Fisheries, in Fulton and Hubble Processing in Savanna. He spent most of his life in Illinois, but would travel to Arkansas during the summers to work as a roofer.

He was the type of guy who was always eager to jump up and help a friend out. He loved being an uncle to so many, related or not, and was a man of simple taste. As long as he had a cold beer and a cig, he was happy. In his free time, Donald could often be found playing Texas Hold 'em or reading westerns.

Donald will be dearly missed by his mother, Martha; sisters, Bonnie (John) Warwick of Calion, Ark., Connie Hackenberger of Smackover, Ark., and Amy (Jesse) Fosdick of Savanna; brother, Eric (Lynn) Zeeryp of Savanna; as well as many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Sr.; step-father, Orville Gilmore; and nephews, Eion Zeeryp, Dalton Zeeryp, and Timothy "Dylan" Fosdick.
