The Savanna Historical Society is hosting a "Car Cruise-In" in downtown Savanna this Sunday, July 19, and car enthusiasts are encouraged to participate.
Cars can be parked in the blocked off areas of the 400 block of Main Street or in the 300 block behind Main Street, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no registration fee.
Come and enjoy being outside and show your support to the Savanna Historical Society. Donations will be gratefully accepted and used to continue renovations and programming at the Savanna Museum and Cultural Center.
Among those planning to attend are local residents Ron Nemec, who will showcase his 1984 Corvette; Don Nowviock, with his 1931 Model A; and Andy MiIls, with his 2005 Ford GT.
Nostalgia super stock drag racer, Howard Crull of Fieldon, Ill., will display the Ferris Motors’ 1965 Torqueflite Tornado tribute car. Everyone is welcome!
Savanna Home and Hardware has graciously donated a $200 value gas Stihl leaf blower as a silent auction item. Everyone will have a chance to make a bid. Sign up at the museum, 406 Main St. The winner can take the leaf blower home after 3 p.m.
The SHS supports area businesses and hopes the public will enjoy this family activity. Of course, we encourage social distancing and wearing masks. We shall have hand sanitizers available at a table in front of the museum at 406 Main St. Your support is appreciated.
