Friday evening, Nov. 15, the New Spirit Band, directed by Juliene McCormick, reunited and presented an outstanding musical concert at the Savanna Museum and Cultural Center. The concert, a fundraiser with all donations going to the Savanna Historical Society, was to a “standing room only crowd.” The Savanna Historical Society deeply appreciates their time and talents, so freely given to help support our museum.
In this season of the year, we are reminded of “gifting.” I want to thank the New Spirit Band for their gift to all of us. They gave an outstanding performance. Joy, goodwill and enthusiasm radiated from the group as they shared their gifts and, in turn, the audience embraced the spirit of the evening. I could see smiling faces all around.
Also, to our community and area residents, thank you for your continued support of our programs and events. We strive to always be a vital part of our community and present programs and events to help entertain, educate and inform.
We are eagerly looking forward to our annual Festival of Trees, opening Nov. 29.
Again, thanks to the New Spirit Band and Juliene for a wonderful evening.
