Timber Lake Playhouse's Magic Owl Children's Theatre production of "The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig" is a charming musical that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Based on the book of the same name by Eugene Trivizas, this musical is a funny and inventive twist to the traditional story. My children loved the snappy music, cute characters and whimsical story line.
The child-oriented production is wonderfully brought to life by TLP's resident performers Rachel Davenport as Mother Wolf; Anna Catherine Smith as White Wolf; Michel Vasquez as Grey Wolf; Emma Buchanan as Black Wolf; Ben Dow as Crow; Dalton Mathis as the Big Bad Pig; and Logan Dolence as Flamingo.
Cast members do a wonderful job interacting with the children and truly making them part of the story. Children's voices fill the theater, yelling out suggestions and warning the little wolves each time Big Bad Pig arrives.
The show would not be possible without the hard work of Music Director Michel Vasquez, Choreographer Logan Dolence, Stage Manager Chloe Grotheer, Scenic Designer Whitney Lehn Meltz, Technical Director Jason Washburn, Props Master Mitchell Snow, Costume Designer Zandra Siple, Lighting Designer Karissa Monson and Sound Designer Kristina Parker.
"The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig" serves as a great way to introduce children to the theater. Families looking for a wonderful way to spend a pleasant morning or afternoon might consider attending this musical.
Upcoming performances of "The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig" include 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 2-3, and 2 p.m. Aug. 13, 15 and 16.
