Dear Editor:

It looks like fall on Savanna’s Main Street. The Fall Planter Project was truly a community effort.

The Beautification in Motion group, coordinated by Karen Nolte, organized volunteers from Savanna Service Club and business owners from Circa 1888 and Shivers.

Christie Rice from Sassy Stems delivered the mums and pumpkins. Ryan Holmbo, manager of Ace Hardware, donated the use of shopping carts and bags of soil to add to the planters.

The volunteers were treated to lunch at Hawg Dogs, compliments of Jerry and Vickie Gendreau. Circa 1888, Whiskey River and Friends Bar and Grill opened their doors to fill jugs for watering the new plantings. All businesses on Main Street are encouraged to help out with the watering throughout the fall season.

Savanna Service Club would like to thank all volunteers, businesses, the City of Savanna, and the Savanna Fire Department for their continued support of Flowers on Main.
