Youth WORKS (Wellness, Opportunity, and Resources for Key Services) of Carroll County, a program of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), is a violence prevention program that raises awareness and educates young people, parents, or other invested community members on effective ways to prevent and reduce violence among youth.
Youth WORKS serves youth ages 11-24. The program addresses key areas, including conflict resolution, emotional wellness, academic achievement, and gainful employment.
Youth WORKS collaborates with local schools offering the curriculum Too Good For Violence, which focuses on positive decision-making, healthy relationships and other pro-social topics. It also refers youth to key services that they may need through our youth referral guide, which is put together by the youth.
Youth WORKS is inviting everyone who has a passion for helping our area students to get involved with violence prevention. We are looking for both Area Project Board and Community Committee members in Carroll County to provide ideas and assist with prevention activities.
Please call Katie Kalina, Youth WORKS Case Manager, at 815-284-7796, extension 4160, or email email@example.com if you have any questions or if you are interested in becoming a member and helping our communities.
Youth make up 25 percent of our population, but 100 percent of our future. You can help make a difference.
