Dear Editor:

The Savanna Veterans Memorial Committee would like to express its deepest gratitude to both the Savanna Inter-Church Council and the residents of all our surrounding communities.

First, we wish to extend a huge thank you to the Inter-Council for all the hard work that went into planning and organizing the Taste of Italy, the Council’s Italian dinner fundraiser this past Saturday evening, Nov. 2. The Council and a plethora of hard-working volunteers created a delightful atmosphere for fellowship while providing a first-class meal in a pleasant and relaxing environment.

Thanks to the Council’s impressive efforts and the community’s support, over $4,000 was raised to benefit the Savanna Veterans Memorial.

The Committee would also like thank Savanna and surrounding community residents for their support, not only of this superbly run event, but also for all the previous fundraising campaigns we have organized and implemented since the Committee was formed in May of 2016.

The good news is that we have nearly attained our financial goals. Thanks to the Inter-Church Council’s recent efforts and our continued success in selling pavers, we will soon have sufficient funding to complete all of our critical construction deliverables prior to the Memorial’s dedication on May 25, 2020.

To the Inter-Church Council and the members of all their participating churches, we wish to express a heartfelt thank you and acknowledge the vital role you play in our community.

To the residents of our surrounding communities, we offer our gratitude and appreciation for your continued loyalty, generosity and support.
