We want to give a big shout out to the Mount Carroll Public Library and urge the community to support its renovation and expansion fundraiser.
When we became full-time residents of Mount Carroll in 2015, we were anxious to meet our neighbors and get involved in our new community. The library proved to be just the connection we were looking for.
From the start, Library Director Pam Naples and the staff were welcoming and hospitable. Through library programs — most notably Library Walkers, Morning Book Club, Cooks and Books, Travelogues and Euchre Nights — we got involved and made new friends. What luck to land in a town with such a vibrant library!
Despite this year's various Covid-19 restrictions, the library has continued to prove adaptive in meeting the community's needs, whether in person or virtually.
As a result we've been able to continue enjoying library services — checking out E-books, DVD's, cookbooks and novels, and live streaming programs. We're looking forward to the 2021 rehab and expansion as the library prepares to move into the future.
The State of Illinois' $1.15 million contribution toward this project is conditional upon the community's support, so please show your support by contributing today.
