Dear Editor:

Thank you to all that came to share memories of the teachers, students and classes at Center Hill. It was great to see and talk to people of all ages enjoying the companionship of other “Hillers.”

The pictures and other items shared were very interesting. Looking at our faces in group pictures, we looked so young, inquisitive and open-minded for the future. Thanks also for the cookies and brownies donated plus the help from Donna and David Bielema and Jeannie Messmer.

I do wish to bring a void in Carroll County history to light. While trying to find other pictures, trophies, anything reverting to our days at Center Hill, I hit a brick wall.

At the Carroll County Historical Society’s Miles Museum in Mount Carroll they had nothing and what they did have was donated by others. I was instructed to contact the Savanna Public Library. Again, no luck.

It’s such a shame that we Center Hill students don’t have a chapter in the history of our county. I plan to donate all the pictures and other items from my past at Center Hill, and hope others will do the same.

Thanks again to all who took time to share memories of a great school with fantastic teachers who helped mold us into the people we are today.
