Agriculture is the backbone of our country and the most needed industry in America. Right now agriculture desperately needs young men and women who are willing to help feed and clothe, not only those in our country, but those in other countries around the world.
Recent statistics from the United States Department of Agriculture indicate there are almost two job openings for every qualified graduate.
The Andresens of rural Chadwick have farmed for over 50 years. In appreciation of their success in farming, they are awarding Ag Scholarships in order to encourage young people to join this exciting field.
$1,000 scholarships are being awarded to the graduating seniors from Carroll County high schools who have been accepted at an accredited community college, university or technical school. The scholarships are based on need of the student, scholastic ability, moral character, leadership qualities and community involvement.
