West Carroll High School is celebrating its 2018 Homecoming this week and the theme is “Green Black and Bling.”
Activities for Spirit Week, coordinated by the WCHS Student Council, include special dress-up days for the student body and staff.
Monday was America Day, Tuesday was Hawaiian Day, Wednesday was Class Color Day, Thursday is Disney Movie Character Day (each class will have its own movie) and Friday is Green/Black Day. The week will end Friday with a pep rally and games for students.
The Homecoming parade steps off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, starting from the Shopko parking lot, north on Third Street and south on Main Street, ending at the marina entrance. Those driving convertibles and the fire trucks are asked to pull behind Shopko for line-up along with class floats.
Immediately following the parade, the Homecoming court will be introduced at the football field followed by the coronation of the king and queen.
A bonfire next to the football field will conclude Thursday night’s activities.
The Homecoming game kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, against Stockton. The Homecoming court will be introduced just before kickoff, around 6:30 p.m.
Homecoming Week at West Carroll High School wraps up with the dance from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Manny’s in Savanna.
